This week's Good Facility is an example of a continuous footway in the Dutch city of Zwolle.
The footway runs across the mouth of a side road, completely unchanged, ensuring pedestrians have clear priority across the road. Drivers have to mount a ramp and drive across the footway to access the main road.
All the streets on this side of the main road are one-way in this direction, to prevent them being used as through-routes for motor traffic. This means there will not be many drivers crossing this footway (this treatment is not appropriate for busier junctions). There is of course an exemption for cycling, allowing people to cycle in both directions.
Finally it should be noted that the main road here is definitely not a Good Facility! It's just a painted lane on a very busy road next to Zwolle railway station, and is definitely in need of some improvement.
