This week's Good Cycling Facility is a pair of modal filters in the London borough of Waltham Forest.
In the foreground, one street (Aubrey Road) has been completely closed to motor traffic at the junction with Church Hill, via a series of bollards. The 'closed' area has been replanted with trees and shrubbery.
The street in the background has been converted from two-way for motor traffic into an entrance-only street, with two-way cycle access retained. People walking and cycling have priority across the main road - Church Hill - via a parallel zebra crossing.
A straightforward scheme that has a significant effect!
