Good Cycling Facility of the Week: 31st October 2019

This week's Good Cycling Facility is a new modal filter in the London borough of Hackney, on the route of CS1 (Cycle Superhighway 1).

Modal filters are simple, low-cost interventions that block streets to motor traffic, but allow access for cycling and walking. They retain direct routes for these modes, while making driving less direct (and therefore less convenient). Just as importantly, they help to civilise streets by greatly reducing motor traffic volumes.
