This week we're featuring a fairly standard Dutch signalised junction. The key feature here is the separate signalisation of turning movements - motor vehicles waiting to turn right are held at a red signal while people walking and cycling who wish to progress straight on have a green signal. This arrangement eliminates any 'hook' conflicting movements.
It's also worth noting that right turns for people cycling are always 'free' at this junction, regardless of what the signals are showing. You simply cycle around the corner, much as you would if you were walking.
