Good Cycling Facility of the Week: 28th November 2019

This week's Good Cycling Facility is a combination of a protected cycleway along a main road (Lea Bridge Road) and a side road that has been closed to motor traffic, while retaining walking and cycling access, in the London Borough of Waltham Forest.

Previously this side road was open to motor traffic - the closure has removed any risk of collisions with motor vehicles at this junction, as well as making walking and cycling a more attractive alternative to short car trips in the local area. It's also made the side road more pleasant, with the addition of street furniture, cycle parking and planting.
