Low motor traffic access roads are extremely common in Dutch urban areas - but they also exist in rural areas too, as with this week's Good Cycling Facility - a road in the countryside south of the Dutch city of Gouda.
Although this is a road, it is primarily a cycle route. Only a very small number of motor vehicles will be using it, and only to access the small number of properties along it. There is a larger main road on the other side of the river which carries any through traffic. That means that this road is extremely pleasant to cycle on! It has been recently resurfaced with smooth asphalt.
