This week's Good Cycling Facility is a cycle street (or 'fietsstraat') in the Dutch city of Delft. This is a street on which cycle traffic has priority; the street is laid out to reinforce that priority, with a smooth area for cycle traffic on each side of the street with a rough centre divider.
Most importantly of all, however, motor traffic levels are extremely low on this street. While it forms a direct connection for cycle traffic, this street is a dead-end for motor traffic, meaning only residents and access vehicles will be using it.
