This week's Good Facility is the 'Snelbinder' bridge, running across the Waal river to the north of the city of Nijmegen.
This cyclepath (and footway) is attached to a railway bridge, meaning it is a direct route across the river (to the town of Lent on the north bank) that is not available to motor traffic. The full length of the raised section of cycleway is 2km.
As can be seen in the photograph, the section over the river has a separate footway, keeping walking and cycling separate. The railings of the bridge are also cleverly bent out, to maximise the effective width of the cycleway.
