Good Cycling Facility of the Week: 23rd April 2015

This week's Good Facility is an underpass - where a cycle path and footway passes under the four lane ring road skirting the Dutch New Town of Zoetermeer. 

The important detail here is that the dual carriageway has been built up on a ramp, while the cycle and walking path remains at ground level. Drivers have to go up and over, while people walking and cycling have a flat route.

Notice also that this bridge/underpass has been constructed to allow good visibilty, angled at the sides so that is open and wide, to ensure social safety.
