This week's Good Facility (picture courtesy of Jaap Eldering) is a simple but effective piece of cycling infrastructure - a cycle path bolted on to an existing bridge, De Meernbrug in Utrecht, spanning the Amsterdam-Rhine canal.
The bridge dates from the 1930s, but this path was added in 1985. Many bridge crossings in the UK could benefit from this kind of infrastructure, allowing dedicated space for cycling to be created on bridges that may be too narrow in their existing form.
