This week's Good Facility is a cycle street with a transition to a protected cycleway in Hoek van Holland, the Netherlands.
In the foreground is a street with motor vehicle access, but designed to prioritise cycle traffic, with narrow cycle-specific lanes and a rough median to discourage overtaking. In the distance this cycle street becomes a two-way cycleway, with no motor vehicle access. Motor vehicles have to rejoin the main carriageway on the left.
The other detail here is that the footway is level and continuous across the driveways on the right, with steep ramps for vehicle access.
