This week's Good Cycling Facility is a 'driver's perspective' on a side road junction in a brand-new developmen on the outskirts of Delft.
Drivers approaching the 'main' road from this side road have to cross a footway and a bi-directional cycleway. To do so they have to cross a steep ramp, and then pass over the footway and the cycleway, both of which are unbroken and continuous across the mouth of the junction.
The design both slows drivers physically and makes it absolutely clear that walking and cycling has priority in this situation.
