This week's Good Facility is a primary cycle route in the Dutch city of Assen.
This is a direct route between the city centre and the new (large) suburb of Klosterveen. It is designed to accommodate large volumes of cycle traffic, in comfort.
The route is effectively a 'cycle street' as it can be used by motor traffic. However the levels of motor traffic on the route are very low, as it does not form a through route, and is only used for accessing properties along it.
The cycle route surface is smooth asphalt, and has low-level street lighting.
