This week's Good Facility is an example of how to make cycling safe and attractive on rural (or semi-rural) lanes. This road on the outskirts of Delft in the Netherlands is only one-way for motor traffic, but two-way for cycling, as shown by the sign.
Just as importantly, this lane only functions as an access road, leading only to a small number of properties. Motor traffic travelling elsewhere is forced to use a parallel through-road. This means the number of interactions with motor traffic on this lane is very low; just the drivers visiting properties along it.

Also note the design here. Legally, this is a one-way road with bicycle counterflow. But in design it's just a cycleway. It is a type of infrastructure that has no official status, yet can be found all over the Netherlands: A cyclepath where cars are allowed for destination traffic. A bicycle street can have that same idea, but as can be seen here, the same exists in various shapes and kinds without having been given any special name.
