Dear Subscribers and Ambassadors,
Welcome to our November newsletter with a brief summary of what the Embassy has been up to in the last few weeks.
As well as responding to the East-West Cycle Superhighway consultation, the North South one, the Aldgate-Bow one, and the Department for Transport’s Cycling Delivery Plan, we made clear that Cambridge’s Perne |roundabout is not ‘Dutch’.
We also saw some nice ‘Good facilities of the week’,and went along to commemorate Victims of Traffic Violence. Oh, and we were visited by the undead. (Because Sally is never not creative when naming the blog round-up
(Also, the site is constantly being updated - in this case, an earlier article about why Milton Keynes doesn't work.)
And for real infrastructure and engineering nerdery, we wrote about new tools for assessing the quality of cycle provision. The latest report - on the infrastructure safari of Dorset - shows some of the opportunities for such a tool.
Finally, since our open letter to Guide Dogs we've spoken to them after the #CycleEyes fiasco - thankfully it seems that we actually share views on things like 'shared space', so it's a good reminder of the value of engaging organisations that should be natural partners for cycling for all.
As usual, feedback is welcome - let us know on the forums, or via secretary@cycling-embassy.org.uk
