Potential idea for a campaign, given that the politics is currently worded around ‘no hierarchy’ in road users… is it worth looking a ‘no hierarchy’ for street funding and highlighting the differences between current spend on motorism against other modes?
Good thought. However, the 97% of the population that don’t realise that they are bicycle riders yet might just think ‘fair enough’ that more is being spent to accomodate the motor car. It would need to be a specific campaign aimed at the transport ‘movers and shakers’ (which is probably what you had in mind anyway) whilst we keep building up the wiki to show what the new re-distibuted transport budget could be spent on :-) – and indeed, how it would also benefit pedestrians, wheelchair users, children and parents that would prefer fresh air, neighbourhoods etc etc
