Jim Davis, Chair of the Cycling Embassy of Great Britain cordially invites you to join him on an Infrastructure Safari of Worthing and Brighton incorporating much of his daily commute and a lot of cycle facilties to see and discuss. And it's a chance to ride along the seaside of course.
If you are free on the 18th August, and fancy a very leisurely ride with the chance to see the good, the bad and the downright offensive in cycle infrastructure, the ride shall begin at 12.30pm from Worthing Railway Station. This is to give everyone ample time to get to the South Coast. The date was chosen to put it after the furore of the Olympic Games, and to give us a fighting chance of ice-cream weather.
A Google Map of the route marking out points of interest may be found by following this link.
We advise you to bring some sort of refreshment during the ride (although there are shops and cafes along the route). At the end, we shall be stopping at a pub for a pint and post ride chat (Good Companions, 132 Dyke Road, Brighton BN1 3TE) and those wishing to nip back to Brighton (or Hove) Railway Stations can be accompanied if necessary.
If you require further information, or you are a local campaigner, engineer, planner or politician that would like to help with the ride and share your cycling experiences, please contact Jim on chair@cycling-embassy.org.uk
