Here’s another consultation that Suffolk County Council are running, this time not part of the Travel Ipswich scheme. The money has come from a combination of Section 106, and developer money for the local retail park which has recently opened. Apparently the infrastrucutre for cycling was implemented first a few years ago (well, the legalised pavement cycling plus a toucan), and now the council are implementing the changes due to the increase in motor traffic, which is affecting the bus routes to the point that the bus company is removing buses from there.
It's worth noting that just to the south of Nacton Road is the Ravenswood Estate, which is relatively new, has some fairly good cycle infrastructure (by British standards), and high cycle to school rates.
http://www.cyclescape.org/threads/1281 has all the details. Closing date is Wednesday 5th March 2014.
I've started drafting a response, so if anyone has any additional comments, please let me know of anything else I should include.
