Netherlands cycling

I'm heading to the Netherlands for a few days in the near future. Any recommendations? We are staying in Amsterdam and planning to hire bikes...

What interests you?

Additionaly,  how far can you travel in one day? Would you consider taking the bike on a train to somewhere further away to ride around there for a day?

Seeing as you can cycle pretty much anywhere, you may want to narrow it down abit first.
