Footpath

A path away from a carriageway (or, in other words, a path away from a road). Not to be confused with a footway, which run alongside a carriageway (or road).

Unlike cycling on footways, cycling on footpaths is technically trespass, not a crime. However, a local by-law or Traffic Regulation Order can make it an offence.
