Cycle Design Vehicle

A term used to refer to a 'composite' of the many different types of cycle, used to provide design criteria that will accommodate all those types of cycle.

In the Highways England Standard Cycle Traffic and the Strategic Road Network, the Cycle Design Vehicle is assumed to be 2.8m long and 1.2m wide. This accommodates various forms of cargo bikes, cycles with trailers, handcycles, and adapted cycles.
